We are sad to be saying goodbye to Palatine Fruit and Roses this coming spring. Palatine has been wonderful to our charity, they committed themselves to growing our Jason’s Resolve rose and we are proud of what they have accomplished. We are grateful.

Palatine confirmed with us last week that we will have 198 roses for our 2025 spring crop. Our rose is a charity rose and sells for $50. We cover the cost of the rose and $20 is put towards inclusion opportunities for individuals with disabilities. We can offer a $20 tax receipt for anyone in Canada.

Please message us if you would like a rose for this spring. We are so proud of our rose, each bloom is unique and we see it continue to bloom until frost. Palatine requires information on all shipped roses by the end of February.

Note that starting in 2026 our rose will be sold wholesale through JC Bakker and Sons Ltd. We will still be able to offer roses locally but Jason’s Resolve roses will now additionally be sold by nurseries and retail stores within Canada and the United States.

Our Gaming Marathon is moving into its 5th year. Our gamers have gamed in support of donations toward wheelchair swings, service animals, and for customized bikes. Each year it has been our gamers who have selected our cause.

This year, we would like to do something a little bit different. Our purpose is always inclusion for individuals with disabilities. Our hopes are to combat social isolation and to allow everyone equal opportunity to participate within their communities.

Sometimes isolation occurs due to a medical condition or for whatever reason, an inability to frequently leave home. Staying at home can be due to necessity, it may be impossible or even just harder to frequently leave the house.

Keeping all abilities in mind we would like to focus our fundraising this year on our whole marathon premise – GAMING.

Our gamers who are registered so far have decided that they would like to game in support of purchasing gaming systems and games for those who may not have the opportunity to participate at in person social events.

We will be purchasing gaming systems or games for those who may be medically fragile, for a organization who may be in need of a system, or for any individual who may be feeling isolated and is looking for a way to connect with others.

We would like to again extend our invite to anyone who would like to participate in our marathon. Our goal is inclusion, and everyone is welcome. Gaming is on December 27th and will be either 6, 12 or 18 hours long.

Also, we would like to hear from anyone who would like to receive a gaming system or game. Additionally, please send us any nominations of an organization or individual who may benefit from our marathon giving. The total number of gaming systems purchased will depend on our total funds raised.

Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities. It is important to pause and consider the importance of this year’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities theme.

2024 Theme
“Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future.

Together, let us build a society where persons with disabilities can lead, innovate, and inspire in a future that is inclusive and sustainable for all.”

There is so much work being done to support disability inclusion. We are proud of the efforts of many, and look forward to a continued path of strong disability leadership with a focus on inclusion.

Let’s make sure to include disability leadership and representation at every table.

Today is Giving Tuesday, a day when communities across Canada and around the world unite to make a difference. My name is Jennine Germond-Ditz, and I am pleased to reach out to share our commitment to disability inclusion.

Our commitment focuses on inclusive education, disability awareness, as well as creating opportunities for those who may need support to participate equally within their communities. We are grateful to be celebrating today as we are steadily working to shine a light on disability inclusion.

We very much appreciate the support that we are receiving and would like to share a few recent projects where we have spent our fundraising dollars.

- Ontario Blind Sports Association – sponsoring a child to attend camp in 2025
- Dyslexic reading program
- Neurodiversity Night - a program which encourages friendship and social connection
- We have sponsored a family experiencing multiple disabilities (our goal is to ease the pressure of parental costs for one of their children to participate in a community event)
- Youth inclusion learning
- Funding for a child to play hockey
- Halton Learning Foundation
- Field Day which supported a day of connection
Community Musical Theatre

We have many projects planned for 2025 and can’t express how much we appreciate your belief in our cause. Our goal is to promote shared opportunities to bridge the gap between those with and those without disabilities. We are committed to increasing the quality of social interaction, work to reduce isolation for those with disabilities, as well as focus on inclusion learning for all.

We are committed to spending our fundraising dollars towards making everyone feel like they BELONG!
